BIOGRAPHY
Dima Dahaba (Diima) is a producer, rapper, singer-songwriter, Sound Designer and Mixing Engineer from Guinea-Bissau.
Due to his multi-cultural origins he’s an eager researcher of world’s music, rhythms, and sounds. Throughout the years he developed his own sound which leans mainly towards Hip-Hop, R&B and Afrobeats while borrowing heavily from Electronic, Latin and World Music.
Diima created his first music project named “Barudjo Organizado” in 2000 in Guinea-Bissau becoming the country’s one of the first beatmakers to come up on the scene.
In 2002 he moved to Brasil where he was able to further his career expanding his network and music services to a different market. In 2009 he graduated as technologist in Music Production by Anhembi Morumbi University of São Paulo (Brazil).
During his 16 years living in Brazil Diima contributed significantly for the development of its Hip-Hop and R&B music scenes via a vast number of collaborations with artists, brands and musical performances with his former “Sevenlox” band.
In 2018 he returned to Guinea-Bissau and in the same year founded “Bissilon Sound” a record label with the goal of inspiring, teaching, and launching young up and coming artists from the country, while maintaining his career as a recording artist.
Since then, he’s been raising awareness and building influence in Guinea-Bissau music market having released 4 local acts via Bissilon Sound and a debut solo album named “Korson Di Tambur” in 2020. He also been collaborating in projects of many popular and underground guinean artists of new generation and building bridges with local fashion designers, movie makers, painters, and artisans.
In 2022 he was invited for an artistic residence in Spain to where take his innovative music, visuals and identity being the first musician from West Africa to perform at “Rara Residencia” in Villanueva Del Rosario (a town and municipality in the province of Málaga in the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain).
Now Diima’s getting ready to release his sophomore studio album while seeking to expand and broaden his horizons as a producer, mixing engineer and artist.
